Background

O2K was challenged to convert an international financial institution’s cafeteria into a Town Hall.

Requirements :

  • A completely automated AV ecosystem that required no human intervention during a Town Hall session.
  • Multi-camera setup and a video switcher that would work without any human interference.
  • Easy to use audio controls to manage the entire acoustics.

Challenges :

  • The ‘L’ shaped layout of the cafeteria made it a challenging choice for a Town Hall, including getting a visual of the presenter.
  • AAstute automation was essential for a system that required no human interference.

Solutions Provided

  • We assessed the existing hardware, acoustics and architectural plan of the cafeteria in the discovery phase.
  • The stage was positioned in the centre corner of the ‘L’ shape, enabling the presenter to view the audience on both the arms
  • The cheat reader for the presenter was placed on the opposite side of the wall at an optimal viewing distance.
  • The use of large displays on either side of the presenter ensured optimal viewing from both sides.
  • Multiple, automated Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras were placed strategically to capture the presenter as well as the audience during Town Hall sessions.
  • During Q&A sessions, members of the audience would walk up to the microphones mounted on the wall and start talking. PTZ cameras would automatically focus on the person talking, her image flashed on all the displays for the presenter to see. As the presenter started to answer, the camera would automatically focus back on him. This entire system would function without any human interference.
